This was the first major introduction to games on a computer rather than just a single console. It also brought the capacity for video as well.

It was one of the first companies to offer a broad list of conveniences to its users without the necessity for an internet connection.

CompuServe

Began in 1969, but reached its peak in the 1980s. It is basically an internet service provider. It was one of the first companies to provide in home access to the internet with family computers. It was one of the first in the field of internet service providers.

Web TV

It was developed in the 90s. It was a service which allowed the viewing of programs over the internet to a TV screen hook up. One of the first major streaming services and also one of the most successful.
